About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-impact engineering team responsible for artifact storage, cross-cloud and cross-region replication, and distribution service scaling across millions of cloud instances daily.
  • Drive the multi-year roadmap for low-level artifact storage, peer-to-peer distribution, and cloud replication.
  • Provide hands-on technical oversight using Staff-level system design and architecture expertise.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, oversee system reliability, and maintain engineering excellence.
  • Translate complex infrastructure constraints into clear strategies and align partner product and engineering organizations.
  • Hire, mentor, and support the career growth of engineers, including Senior and Staff-level individual contributors.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of engineering management experience leading backend or platform infrastructure teams.
  • High technical judgment equivalent to a Staff Engineer, with experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of customer interactions with platform products across multiple components.
  • Deep experience in low-level backend or cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Proven success attracting, recruiting, and developing Senior and Staff-level individual contributors.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience at major cloud providers or scale-out technology companies.
  • Familiarity with high-throughput artifact delivery, large-scale machine learning model weight distribution, or container infrastructure management.
  • Experience evolving team structures and processes during hyper-growth while maintaining operational reliability.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Zone 2 pay range: $217,100–$298,550 USD.
  • Compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
