Software Engineer, AI Platform
Build the AI platform behind fab2, including model infrastructure, agent systems, evaluations, and tools for engineering and fab operations. The role requires strong production software engineering skills and comfort working across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and data.

Responsibilities
- Build infrastructure for using AI models across cloud providers and on-premises compute.
- Develop AI agents, shared skills, MCP servers, and sandboxed execution environments.
- Create evaluations and benchmarks to measure agent performance and identify improvements.
- Convert engineering knowledge and repeatable workflows into shared AI tools.
- Develop AI systems for automated experimentation, defect detection, engineering analysis, and fab operations.
- Explore systems that analyze results, recommend next steps, and eventually interact with physical equipment.
- Help shape AI usage across the company and inside the fab.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping production systems.
- Ability to work across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and data.
- Ability to use AI coding tools while independently reading, writing, debugging, and reasoning about code.
- Strong product instincts and ability to turn ambiguous problems into working systems.
- Strong technical communication and a high degree of ownership.
Nice-to-Haves
- Founding engineer, CTO, or early-stage startup experience.
- Experience building AI agents, developer tools, evaluations, or ML infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with GPU or on-premises compute infrastructure.
- Exposure to robotics, hardware, scientific computing, or automated experimentation.
- Experience building software for regulated environments.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: $140,000–$200,000.
