Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, clean, transform, and validate data from multiple sources.
- Write and optimize SQL to investigate issues, reconcile records, and answer business and client questions.
- Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards, scheduled reports, and KPIs.
- Analyze trends and perform root-cause analysis on data discrepancies and integration or processing failures.
- Deliver clear ad hoc analysis to support decision-making.
- Support database maintenance, including integrity checks, performance tuning, backups, and access administration, in coordination with Engineering.
- Support data migrations and integrations by validating mappings, conversions, and file processing.
- Document data and processing issues.
Customer Support
- Serve as the point of contact for UK and European clients on data, reporting, and operational queries.
- Triage and resolve tickets within SLA, escalating when needed.
- Investigate client-reported data discrepancies across systems and explain findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Monitor data jobs, file processing, and reporting pipelines to proactively identify issues.
- Maintain incident documentation, knowledge-base articles, and reporting definitions.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Represent customer needs to Product, Engineering, and Program Management.
- Surface recurring issues that may require product or process changes.
- Develop platform and domain expertise toward becoming a regional subject-matter expert for data and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related analytical role.
- Strong SQL skills across relational databases.
- Working knowledge of database maintenance concepts, including data integrity, performance, and access controls.
- Proficiency with a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Understanding of data quality, validation, and reconciliation practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and across UK/European and US time zones, including occasional off-hours coverage.
- Must be based in the United Kingdom.
Nice-to-Haves
- Scripting experience for data analysis with Python or R.
- Familiarity with APIs, SFTP/file-based transfers, or message queues.
- Exposure to cloud data or logging and monitoring tools such as AWS or Azure.
- Financial services, banking, or securities-based lending experience.
