Alternatives Data Operations Analyst

Manages alternative-investment data operations, including security-master oversight, workflow controls, document interpretation, and high-volume data validation. The role requires investment-industry knowledge, strong SQL and Databricks/PySpark skills, and the ability to troubleshoot ingestion pipelines and apply AI tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Research alternative investments in Addepar’s global database and classify them by asset type, vintage, and strategy.
  • Oversee operational workflows for alternative-data processing.
  • Develop and maintain process controls and metrics to support data-quality standards.
  • Partner with Research teams to implement and run data-quality validations.
  • Oversee the alternatives security master and security-classification processes.
  • Manage and troubleshoot end-to-end data-ingestion pipelines, resolving networking, querying, and database issues with engineering teams.
  • Explore and implement AI-assisted developer tools to streamline document parsing, repetitive workflows, and validation cycles.

Requirements

  • Experience in the financial investment or advisory industry, including knowledge of capital markets and middle- or back-office operations systems.
  • Preferably, experience with alternative investments, including private or drawdown fund reporting statements and data.
  • Strong documentation, follow-through, problem-solving, ownership, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work UK hours and maintain the right to work in the United Kingdom; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Strong SQL and Databricks/PySpark experience for navigating complex data architectures, extracting audits, and validating high-volume datasets.
  • Ability to interpret unstructured private-market financial data, such as Form D filings, capital account statements, and institutional investment briefs, and translate it into structured database taxonomies.
