Builds, secures, operates, and automates data-center and network infrastructure for a global cryptocurrency exchange. The role requires network engineering experience, hands-on physical infrastructure and firewall expertise, cloud networking knowledge, and an automation-focused mindset.

About the job

Responsibilities

Design and Build Data Centers

  • Design and build data centers end-to-end, including cages, racks, PDU/power, structured cabling, and hardware installation.
  • Deliver connectivity through circuits, dark fiber, and DIA, including carrier/vendor coordination, cross-connects, and capacity planning.
  • Stand up and evolve modern data-center fabrics such as Cisco ACI and HPE Juniper Apstra.

Secure the Network

  • Design, implement, and defend zero-trust, defense-in-depth networks with firewalls at the center, including policy, segmentation, and secure connectivity.
  • Implement and evolve enterprise network access controls, including RBAC, least privilege, and segmentation.
  • Partner with Engineering and IT Security to build secure, monitored features.

Operate and Respond

  • Respond to infrastructure requests involving provisioning, access, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and maintain physical infrastructure, including network, security, and compute systems, cloud environments, and remote sites.
  • Respond to critical incidents to maximize uptime.

Automate and Build Tools

  • Manage and deploy infrastructure as code at scale.
  • Build team tooling, automation, internal utilities, and AI agents to reduce operational toil.
  • Write policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Evangelize secure-network practices and mentor team members at senior levels.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of network engineering experience with a security-minded approach.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, particularly Palo Alto Networks, PAN-OS, or Panorama.
  • Hands-on data-center and physical-infrastructure experience, including racking, cabling, power, cross-connects, and hardware installation.
  • Working knowledge of switching, VLANs, and capacity planning.
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols and technologies, including OSPF, BGP, ECMP, and PBR.
  • Exposure to public-cloud networking, including AWS, Azure, or GCP, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automation, such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Comfort with VPN and remote-access connectivity.
  • Bias toward automating repetitive work and strong operational ownership.
  • Experience with industry-standard platforms from Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, HPE Juniper Networking, or HPE Aruba Networking.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally as needed.

Nice to Haves

  • Data-center design and build experience at scale, including multi-site buildouts, carrier/circuit delivery, and capacity planning.
  • Data-center fabric design experience with Cisco ACI or HPE Juniper Apstra.
  • Deep firewall design and operations experience, including multi-site policy, HA clusters, and PAN-OS/Panorama at scale.
  • Experience building AI agents or developer tooling for operational triage and runbook automation.
  • Experience with defensive security systems, including IDS/IPS, security monitoring, and security testing.
  • Knowledge of offensive and defensive security concepts.
  • Deeper public, private, or hybrid cloud experience.
  • Experience owning infrastructure-as-code pipelines end-to-end.
