Responsibilities
FP&A
Own company-wide forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling, including cash runway, burn rate, headcount costs, and SaaS unit economics such as ARR, GRR, NRR, CAC payback, LTV, gross margin, and burn multiple.
Build and maintain the financial model used by leadership and the board.
Hold teams accountable to agreed budgets.
Board and Investor Reporting
Own monthly and quarterly board reporting packages, investor updates, and quarterly board decks.
Handle ad hoc data requests from investors.
Build models and materials for capital raises and investor diligence.
Financial Operations and Systems
Own the finance stack, including the general ledger, spend platform, billing, month-end close process, and integrations across Rippling, Ramp, and HubSpot.
Build scalable systems and processes.
Determine which functions remain outsourced and which move in-house, and build the team as needed.
Cash and Runway Management
Own runway targets and working-capital execution, including collections, billing terms, deferred revenue mechanics, and seasonal cash troughs.
Identify risks and opportunities affecting runway or burn.
Partner with the executive team on hiring, spending, and pricing decisions.
Accounting and Compliance
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including oversight of outsourced accounting execution.
Determine and defend GAAP treatment through documented memos, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, deferred revenue, capitalized R&D, accruals, stock compensation, and ASC 842.
Maintain compliance and audit readiness.
Deal and Pricing Support
Partner with the revenue team on deal structuring, bookings reporting, discounting guardrails, and margin analysis.
Assess deal costs and value.
Requirements
Strong finance leadership experience with prior ownership and development of the finance function.
Experience building or scaling finance teams within a SaaS company, ideally across multiple stages of growth.
Direct ownership of board and investor reporting.
Experience building financial systems and processes from an early-stage environment into scalable operations.
Comfortable working hands-on in modeling, book closing, and financial analysis while operating in a lean, fast-moving company.
Strong understanding of SaaS unit economics.
CPA certification is a plus, not a requirement.
Nice to Have
Experience with K-12 or public-sector revenue cycles.
Leads Offchain’s financial strategy, treasury, governance, and infrastructure while advising executives and the Board. The role requires 10+ years of finance leadership, scale-up experience, advanced modeling skills, and Web3 or crypto expertise.
