Responsibilities
Build and support the engineering team by working with recruiting to hire engineers
Guide development of backend and infrastructure systems
Turn product and technical vision into monthly roadmaps
Collaborate with EPD leadership to improve shipping velocity
Partner with platform lead on backend technical standards
Own incident process and developer-experience improvements
Lead changes to enable AI-assisted development across the platform
Work with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to co-create solutions
Convert technical and product visions into tangible roadmaps with leadership
Identify and execute high-impact opportunities in cost efficiency, performance, and user safety
Partner with product, finance, and trust & safety teams
Requirements
7+ years of software engineering experience (ideally backend, platform, or infrastructure)
2+ years of engineering management experience
Experience sourcing and hiring engineers
Experience supporting a team of 6+ engineers through coaching and career development
Strong understanding of high-quality code and engineering processes
Ability to support architecture decisions for systems that scale from thousands to millions of users
Proficiency with modern AI tooling and ability to enable AI-assisted development
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bias toward shipping and getting things done in fast-paced environments
