Principal Enterprise Architect, Business Systems & Data

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve target-state enterprise systems and data architecture across major business domains, including G&A, product, engineering, operations, and supply-chain-adjacent capabilities.
• Rationalize function-level and shadow IT stacks by documenting current-state architectures, identifying overlap and risk, and proposing phased modernization roadmaps.
• Design and govern architecture patterns for regulated multi-environment operations, including commercial and future government-hosted systems.
• Establish principles for data zoning, system placement, and cross-environment interaction.
• Partner with Cloud & Infrastructure and Security & Compliance teams on infrastructure and security implications while focusing on system, data, and integration architecture.
• Define approved API, event-driven, and batch integration patterns between business systems, data platforms, and domain technologies.
• Guide decisions about the placement and interaction of sensitive, controlled, or regulated data and workloads.
• Provide architectural oversight for strategic programs such as ERP implementation, data platform modernization, domain onboarding, and product and engineering data initiatives.
• Establish architecture reviews, reference architectures, and reusable standards.
• Coach software engineering teams through design reviews, architecture forums, and hands-on guidance.
• Partner with the Senior Director of Enterprise Data & Architecture to establish and mature the enterprise architecture practice.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or senior architecture roles spanning multiple business domains and technology platforms.
• Experience shaping enterprise technology landscapes across applications, data platforms, and integration patterns.
• Experience in regulated, security-sensitive, or government-adjacent environments with constraints around sensitive data handling, segmentation, and compliance.
• Experience with hybrid or multi-environment architectures, including commercial and government-hosted, cloud and on-premises, or otherwise segregated environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and trade-offs among APIs, eventing, batch movement, replication, and system coupling.
• Ability to work effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, security and compliance teams, and infrastructure leaders.
• Strong judgment, communication, and facilitation skills in ambiguous environments with competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle ERP, SAP, or another major enterprise platform in finance, supply chain, manufacturing, or product-adjacent environments.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar.
• Experience leading architecture rationalization or modernization across decentralized organizations.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, federal, or other highly controlled-data environments.
