Cryptography Engineer
Implements and optimizes classical and post-quantum cryptographic primitives for YubiKeys and YubiHSMs. The role requires expertise in cryptography, side-channel mitigations, and efficient low-level development, with embedded systems and laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain, and optimize cryptographic algorithms and primitives—including encryption, hashing, digital signatures, and key exchanges—that run on YubiKeys and YubiHSMs.
- Follow research on classical algorithms such as RSA and ECC, as well as post-quantum cryptography algorithms such as ML-DSA and ML-KEM.
Requirements
- Ability to follow research in cryptography.
- Good understanding of classical symmetric and asymmetric cryptography and post-quantum cryptography.
- Knowledge of side-channel attacks, including electromagnetic, power, and timing analysis, and their mitigations.
- Disciplined approach to writing correct and highly efficient code.
Nice-to-haves
- Low-level programming experience with C and Assembly.
- Experience with embedded architectures.
- Ability to adapt and tune algorithms for resource-constrained environments.
- Knowledge of fault-injection attacks.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
