Assistant Controller
The Assistant Controller will lead US GAAP close and reporting, technical accounting, SOX controls, regulatory filings, and accounting systems in a high-volume fintech environment. The role requires an active CPA license, 8+ years of experience, and deep regulated financial services or fintech expertise.

Responsibilities
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process under US GAAP, including consolidated financial statements and subsidiary statutory filings.
- Maintain and expand the SOX control environment; identify and address control gaps.
- Apply and document technical accounting conclusions for revenue recognition (ASC 606), business combinations (ASC 805), and intangibles and crypto assets (ASC 350-60).
- Partner with the Controller and legal and compliance teams on CFTC and other US financial regulatory filings.
- Scope and implement accounting system improvements, document process gaps, and build reliable workflows.
- Advise product, legal, and business teams on accounting implications of product launches, M&A activity, and monetization changes.
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff.
Requirements
- Active CPA license.
- 8–15 years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful experience in banking, fintech, or regulated financial services.
- Experience in high-transaction-volume environments, including crypto on-ramps, stablecoin settlements, fiat integrations, reconciliations, and error-rate management.
- Independent technical GAAP expertise, including ASC 606, ASC 805, and ASC 350-60.
- Experience building and maintaining SOX controls.
- Experience with CFTC and other US financial regulatory filings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $275,000–$295,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.
