VP, Fund Controlling

Responsibilities

• Lead Fund Finance Strategy: Own the end-to-end financial oversight for all Gridline products, ensuring institutional-grade accuracy across NAV production, tax, and audit work-streams.
• Master Complex Fund Mechanics: Act as the final sign-off for complex capital lifecycle events, including management fee structures, waterfall distributions, and sophisticated subsequent close interest equalizations.
• Direct Audit & Tax Strategy: Drive the annual audit and tax cycles, managing high-level relationships with external partners to ensure seamless delivery of K-1s and audited financial statements across all vehicles.
• Build & Manage Teams: Oversee and mentor the Fund Controlling team to ensure 24/7 operational coverage and efficiency.
• Drive Operational Alpha: Partner with Product and Engineering to design and implement proprietary tools that automate fund administration, reducing manual touchpoints and mitigating operational risk.
• LPA & Compliance Oversight: Ensure all fund activities strictly adhere to Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs) and regulatory requirements, acting as the primary liaison for legal and compliance matters.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of deep experience in fund administration/accounting within the alternative investments and/or private markets space (private equity expertise is specifically required).
• Expert-level and proven track record of managing the entire fund accounting lifecycle across NAV, audit, and tax.
• Significant experience managing professional staff, including preference for candidates who have managed offshore teams or global service providers.
• CPA and ideally a master's degree in a related field.
