Responsibilities
- Break high-impact, exclusive stories on leveraged financing, especially private credit for financial sponsor-backed acquisitions, real estate, rescue/growth situations, and USD/EUR high-yield bond issuances.
- Track APAC market trends, major fund movements, and key personnel changes to inform editorial strategy.
- Collaborate with data specialists, credit analysts, and legal analysts to translate technical financial data into accessible long-form content.
- Build and nurture a high-level network of contacts within investment and legal communities to maintain a pipeline of scoops.
- Represent Octus as a subject matter expert at industry conferences, webinars, and panel discussions.
Requirements
- Proven track record in financial journalism, with deep specialization in capital markets, ideally private credit and/or high-yield bonds.
- Strong command of the financial mechanisms underpinning private credit, syndicated loans, bonds, and distressed debt restructurings.
- Strong writing skills, editorial precision, and uncompromising attention to accuracy.
- Scoop-first mindset.
- Self-starter with effective interpersonal skills, able to navigate a fast-paced environment, sophisticated financial sources, and AI.
