About the role
Responsibilities
Own field marketing end to end: build strategy, calendar, and budget for all in-person programs and execute them hands-on.
Run corporate and first-party events: plan and produce dinners, workshops, meetups, roadshows, and hosted experiences for technical and enterprise audiences.
Manage third-party events and sponsorships: evaluate conferences, negotiate sponsorships, and ensure standout presence.
Build ecosystem partnerships: develop co-marketing relationships with AI vendors for joint events, shared audiences, and partner activations.
Create memorable experiences that attendees talk about afterward, obsessing over details.
Drive pipeline through targeted in-person experiences: partner with sales to select audiences, attract right people, and convert conversations into qualified opportunities.
Measure and report on effectiveness: own metrics including registrations, attendance, pipeline sourced/influenced, and cost per opportunity; iterate on what works.
Lay the foundation for community engagement with developers and customers in person.
Requirements
1–3+ years of field marketing, event marketing, or community experience in AI/ML or adjacent developer/enterprise infrastructure (flexible for exceptional candidates at all levels).
Track record managing corporate events, first-party events, and third-party sponsorships from concept to post-event follow-up.
Experience building ecosystem or co-marketing partnerships.
Pipeline mindset: treat events as a revenue channel and speak to metrics from past programs.
Equal comfort with strategy and execution (e.g., present plans to leadership and handle logistics).
Exceptional organization and project management under tight timelines and shifting priorities.
Based in or willing to be in the San Francisco Bay Area for hybrid schedule, with willingness to travel for events.
Nice-to-Haves
Existing relationships in the AI/developer-tools ecosystem (vendors, communities, event organizers).
Experience as a first or early marketing hire, building programs from zero.
Experience marketing to both developers and enterprise buyers.
Familiarity with event and marketing tools (CRM, marketing automation, event platforms).
