Builds and maintains open-source Android UI components, SDKs, and client libraries while improving the developer experience through documentation, community support, and technical advocacy. Requires 5+ years of native Android development experience, including 3+ years with Jetpack Compose.

Responsibilities
- Architect and develop composable, production-ready UI components using Jetpack Compose and traditional XML views where necessary.
- Develop and maintain open-source Universal Components Android SDKs and client libraries.
- Write, curate, and polish technical content, including tutorials, guides, sample applications, and API documentation.
- Engage with the open-source developer community, provide domain expertise, and offer technical assistance.
- Serve as a technical expert internally and externally, conduct code reviews, and uphold UI testing standards across mobile libraries.
- Share technical expertise at conferences, technology events, community forums, and through technical publications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and fix complex client-library issues while modernizing Android architecture and platform standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional native Android development experience using Kotlin and Java.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience building production interfaces with Jetpack Compose.
- Ability to translate design mockups, such as Figma designs, into clean, modular, and accessible Compose code.
- Experience developing reusable Android UI libraries, SDKs, or widely used application architectures.
- Deep understanding of Android frameworks, core architecture components, and the broader Android ecosystem.
- Experience deploying applications to the Google Play Store or publishing packages and libraries to repositories such as Maven Central.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD platforms and automated UI and unit testing in continuous integration environments.
- Experience writing, running, maintaining, and debugging complex mobile applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience authoring developer documentation.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and thrive in a globally distributed team.
Nice to Have
- Experience with design systems, component libraries, design tokens, or multi-platform visual consistency.
- Experience with iOS development using Swift or Objective-C, or with cross-platform architectures.
- Contributions to open-source projects or experience maintaining public open-source repositories.
- A personal technical blog or published articles on Android development platforms.
- Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM).
- Experience working in remote, distributed engineering teams.
