About the role

What You'll Be Working On

  • Lead small-scale projects within a building, such as BMS subsystem retrofits, minor mechanical controls upgrades, or EPMS hardware/software deployments for a specific data hall or electrical room.
  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies in BMS logic, power monitoring, or data polling and collaborate on fixes.
  • Support delivery of full BMS and EPMS systems across campus buildings, ensuring data flow from mechanical and electrical assets.
  • Support commissioning (L3 to L5) of mechanical and electrical systems, verifying alignment with Sequence of Operations.
  • Resolve complex onsite technical issues including PID loops, communication protocols, and metering inaccuracies.
  • Coordinate with mechanical and electrical trade partners and equipment manufacturers to resolve integration gaps.
  • Build trust-based relationships with onsite contractors, integrators, and commissioning agents.
  • Develop technical and soft skills in control logic, PID tuning, mechanical/electrical theory, and technical writing for RCA.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Instrumentation & Controls or Electrical Engineering, with exposure to Building Automation/Management Systems and/or Power Monitoring/SCADA systems in data centers or industrial facilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of MEP systems documentation including P&IDs, SOO, electrical one-lines, wiring diagrams, points lists, and asset documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Working knowledge of HVAC sequences and control hardware, plus power monitoring hardware such as relays, breakers, and gateways.
  • Familiarity with Modbus (RTU/TCP/IP), MQTT, DNP3; experience with PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and Ignition SCADA.
  • Ability to lead small-scale projects with growing autonomy and collaborate with Senior Engineers.
  • Sound judgment to operate with moderate supervision and escalate appropriately.

Bonus Points

  • Hands-on exposure to both BMS and EPMS disciplines.
  • Familiarity with Ignition SCADA (Perspective).
  • Experience with mechanical assets (CRAH, chillers) and electrical assets (UPS, generators, switchgear).
  • Prior commissioning experience (L3-L5) in mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and technical reporting.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and equity packages including Restricted Stock Units.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and leave programs.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance with HSA contributions.
  • Paid parental leave, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability.
  • Professional development, tuition reimbursement, mental health support.
  • Commuter benefits, cell phone stipend, 401(k) match up to 4%.
  • Volunteer time off, global travel insurance, daily meals allowance, and location-specific perks.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $105,000 - $115,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers.
