Payment Risk Intern
Summer intern supporting payment fraud risk management through SQL analysis, dashboards, control evaluation, and actionable recommendations. Requires current study in a relevant field, hands-on SQL experience, and familiarity with dashboarding tools.

Responsibilities
- Write SQL queries and build dashboards to detect anomalous behavior, analyze risk trends, and monitor payment fraud signals.
- Synthesize data findings into clear narratives and present recommendations to Payments Risk leadership.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, and Engineering stakeholders to develop and pressure-test risk management strategies.
- Evaluate existing rules and controls, identify high false-positive rates, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with Customer Experience and Risk Analytics teams to improve the user journey without introducing incremental risk.
- Document and improve operational processes and procedures for the risk team.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in technology, finance, or analytics, or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of hands-on SQL experience through coursework, projects, or prior internships.
- Ability to translate data into clear, structured recommendations.
- Familiarity with dashboarding tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $40 USD.
