About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own Baseten’s global workplace and real estate strategy, including the long-term roadmap for its physical footprint as the company scales.
  • Lead real estate planning, site selection, expansions, and significant capital investments across headquarters, smaller offices, and future international locations.
  • Build and operate exceptional workplaces, owning workplace operations, office buildouts, relocations, and launches.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, hospitality, and attention to detail.
  • Define the physical expression of Baseten, including interior design, amenities, office traditions, and experiences for employees, customers, candidates, investors, and guests.
  • Lead and develop the Workplace Experience team, building a high-performing organization that scales with the company.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience leading Workplace, Environment, Employee Experience, or a similar function at a hypergrowth technology company.
  • Experience scaling workplace functions from hundreds to thousands of employees across multiple U.S. and international offices.
  • Ability to build trust quickly with founders and senior leaders and exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking, including experience making decisions involving significant real estate investments, competing priorities, and rapid growth.
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Exceptional taste and a high quality bar for intentional, memorable environments.
  • A hospitality mindset focused on exceptional employee, customer, candidate, investor, and guest experiences.
  • A builder who enjoys creating scalable systems and experiences.
  • Based in San Francisco and willing to spend the majority of time in the office, with regular travel to other locations.
