Staff Product Manager, CI/CD & Developer Productivity

Responsibilities

• Own the path from commit to running production software on Render, including the build system, deployment experience, reusable build artifacts, multi-service deployment, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
• Set the roadmap and own outcomes for build and deploy speed, deployment success rate, and time to diagnose failures.
• Define and ship foundational primitives such as reusable build artifacts and application-level deployment.
• Drive performance improvements involving caching, incremental builds, monorepo workflows, and build compute options.
• Improve failure diagnosis through failure classification, root-cause surfacing, and metrics for debuggability.
• Conduct frequent customer conversations and translate feedback into product priorities.
• Sequence foundational engineering refactors alongside urgent customer needs and communicate tradeoffs.
• Partner with customer success and sales on at-risk accounts, including commitments, workarounds, and communication.

Requirements

• 6+ years of product management experience, including work on developer tools, infrastructure, or platform products.
• Significant depth in CI/CD, build systems and caching, containers and registries, deployment strategies, and infrastructure as code.
• Ability to participate effectively in architecture discussions and distinguish technical constraints from preferences.
• Ability to set multi-quarter direction and align engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
• Platform and primitives-oriented product thinking.
• Comfort with ambiguity, limited data, customer research, analytics, and technical constraints.
• Clear communication with technical and executive audiences.
• High standards for developer experience, speed, reliability, and legibility.

Nice to Have

• Experience with product-led growth or products serving both self-serve users and larger accounts.
• Hands-on software engineering experience.
• Experience taking a platform primitive from design-partner beta through general availability.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary range: $218,000–$300,000.
