Staff Solutions Architect

Responsibilities

• Help prospects determine whether their applications are suitable for Temporal.
• Explain the technical benefits and drawbacks of the Temporal platform and cloud service to customers and prospects.
• Position Temporal effectively against alternative technologies and technical patterns.
• Enable customer engineering organizations to expand the number of production applications using Temporal.
• Partner with Account Executives to develop and execute account plans.
• Own relationships with customer technical decision-makers evaluating and operating Temporal applications.
• Travel expected at 25–50%.

Requirements

• Excellent technical communication skills, including presenting, whiteboarding, and writing.
• Comfort discussing distributed systems technologies, design decisions, and best practices.
• Ability to construct application prototypes and provide design, development, build, and deployment guidance using Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, or PHP.
• Knowledge of operating production applications, including security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operations.
• Ability to advise customers on application patterns and platform architectures.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider and services commonly used for application development and production.
• Ability to advise Sales Account Executives on use-case fit, opportunity scoping and sizing, and technical risks.

Compensation and Benefits

• Estimated pay range: $250,000–$300,000 base salary and variable compensation, with a 70/30 split.
• Eligible to participate in Temporal’s equity plan.
