About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the design and evolution of public APIs and SDKs, including versioning, deprecation, and backwards-compatibility.
  • Spec the developer experience end-to-end: auth, onboarding, first call, error handling, rate limiting, webhooks, and edge cases.
  • Write code, build sample apps, run integrations, and identify rough edges firsthand.
  • Review and improve documentation by reading it as a new developer would.
  • Analyze support tickets and forum threads to identify patterns and treat recurring questions as design defects.
  • Define and track key metrics: time-to-first-call, integration success rate, API error rates, adoption, usability, and business impact.
  • Lock API contracts and requirements before engineering begins; defend scope against mid-flight changes.
  • Collaborate with premier B2B product companies on partnership strategy.
  • Translate customer and partner developer needs into improved platform products.
  • Integrate with third-party enterprise applications to ensure reliable production integrations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in platform, developer experience, API, SDK, or partnership-driven products.
  • Deeply technical: comfortable with API contracts, request payloads, logs, telemetry, and implementation tradeoffs.
  • Experience building or leading robust, scalable APIs and SDKs that are easy for external developers to adopt.
  • Strong product taste for developer interfaces: clear abstractions, consistent resource design, machine-readable errors.
  • Ability to think from the developer’s point of view and spot confusing documentation, workflows, or behaviors.
  • Experience working directly with customer and partner developers.
  • Experience integrating products with third-party enterprise applications.
  • Strong written communication: concise specs, accurate documentation, clear product experiences.
  • Ability to define success with metrics and track adoption, usability, and business impact.
  • Excitement about AI and helping customers/partners build with it.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with MCP strategy.
  • Background in AI platforms or agentic capabilities.
