About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and operating model for construction delivery across a defined geography or major program, partnering with Digital Infrastructure Group leadership to set 12-month delivery targets and capital investment priorities.
  • Lead a portfolio of complex, hyperscale AI data center construction programs, accountable for on-time, on-budget delivery and organizational investments that improve delivery velocity and quality.
  • Oversee multiple simultaneous data center construction programs where decisions carry division-level risk and affect regional compute capacity commitments.
  • Design scalable delivery frameworks and program management methodologies across sites, contractors, and functions.
  • Navigate contractor market constraints, regulatory complexity, and capital allocation decisions.
  • Build, mentor, and lead construction management professionals and specialists; hire, develop, and retain talent.
  • Lead with strong emotional intelligence and navigate conflict constructively to build high-performing teams.
  • Partner with executive leadership on organizational structure, workforce strategy, and succession planning.
  • Manage executive stakeholder relationships and drive organizational performance through effective leadership and accountability.
  • Partner with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to align project plans and long-range build strategy.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Real Estate to align projects with company-wide objectives.
  • Apply current construction best practices, methodologies, and industry trends to improve portfolio performance.
  • Travel as needed, up to 40%, to oversee multiple project sites.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in construction management of mission-critical projects.
  • Direct experience delivering hyperscale data centers, large hospitals, or highly complex infrastructure projects.
  • Proven success managing and delivering challenging, large-budget project portfolios on time and on budget across multiple concurrent programs.
  • Experience building organizational capability, leading construction management or project teams, and developing managers and directors.
  • Ability to make consequential decisions with incomplete information and competing priorities.
  • Ability to balance technical and resource tradeoffs across teams and programs.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong people leadership instincts.
  • Deep understanding of construction best practices, budgeting, scheduling, and quality management.
  • Ability to operate across internal leadership, general contractors, subcontractors, cross-functional partners, and executive stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
