Staff Software Engineer
Builds and mentors development of scalable cloud tooling, Continuous Delivery platforms, Infrastructure as Code automation, and supporting microservices across AWS environments. The role requires substantial backend software development experience with Java, Go, or Python, plus Terraform, CI/CD, containers, and distributed systems expertise.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, reliable microservices and tools for a Continuous Delivery platform, including Spinnaker, Terraform, and custom tooling.
- Build software solutions and APIs for infrastructure provisioning, production changes, and application deployments.
- Architect and implement CD pipelines and Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code workflows with strong scalability, reliability, and security.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested automation software, primarily in Java, Python, or Go.
- Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and Product teams to identify operational bottlenecks and deliver scalable automation.
- Apply software design, development, testing, deployment, and security best practices.
- Build self-service automation for infrastructure provisioning, application deployments, and operational tasks.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on software engineering practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience focused on backend systems and distributed applications.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Go, Python, or similar backend languages.
- Experience developing and maintaining automation tools, platforms, or microservices for cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and practical Terraform experience.
- Experience developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery platforms; familiarity with Spinnaker or similar tools.
- Understanding of Kubernetes and ECS from a software development perspective.
- Proficiency with Docker and experience building applications that interact with Linux and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with database technologies such as MySQL and MongoDB.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience building AI-powered assistants or copilots for Terraform or Pulumi templates.
- Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures for intelligent platform documentation and deployment troubleshooting.
