Mobile Software Engineer, Quality Platform at Airbnb

Responsibilities

Build AI-native agents that automate repetitive testing tasks and provide intelligent feedback across iOS and Android.
Develop and maintain scalable platforms and testing environments used by mobile engineering teams.
Implement mobile patterns and modularity that improve testability and fault tolerance across native codebases.
Ensure automated systems are performant and reliable, using data-driven decisions to optimize CI/CD.
Design and maintain testing frameworks in Swift and Kotlin.
Integrate LLM-powered solutions for autonomous test discovery and orchestration.
Partner with mobile teams to integrate quality practices early in development.
Scale distributed testing systems and reduce build latency for iOS and Android.
Prototype next-generation quality engineering tools with Research and Data Science teams.
Participate in code reviews and advocate for strong mobile engineering practices.

Up to 4+ years of professional mobile development experience.
Working knowledge of Kotlin, Android SDK, Swift, and iOS SDK.
Experience with Gradle and Xcode.
Experience building or extending mobile test automation frameworks and infrastructure.
Familiarity with Espresso, Compose Test, or XCUITest.
Ability to build tools and SDKs for other engineers and improve developer experience.
Eagerness to apply AI and LLMs to engineering and quality challenges.
Ability to own features or components from implementation through deployment.
Effective cross-functional communication skills.
