Operations Manager, Signal Systems
Own the systems that ingest, standardize, validate, and operationalize data signals for Vanta’s EPD organization. The role suits a hands-on builder who has recently shipped working tools or pipelines, uses AI-assisted development, and helps teammates grow technically.

Responsibilities
- Bring new signal sources online end to end, from discovery and scoping through ingestion, standardization, and live operation.
- Identify failure modes in information sources and build systems that mitigate them at ingestion.
- Partner with signal producers and consumers to understand data meaning and build useful outputs.
- Replace human-diligence dependencies with engineering solutions, including derived fields, source-system retrieval, and write-time validation.
- Build alongside teammates and help grow their technical capabilities.
- Partner with inference and systems layers to make outputs queryable, trustworthy, and ready to build on.
Requirements
- Have shipped a working pipeline, internal tool, prototype, or agent within roughly the last 12–18 months and be able to explain and defend the code and design choices.
- Have built something real with Claude, an LLM API, or agentic tooling.
- Approach data quality problems through engineering solutions such as derivation, source integration, and validation.
- Be comfortable investigating data meaning directly with its producers and consumers.
- Demonstrate curiosity, willingness to learn, sound judgment, and responsible use of AI.
- No computer science degree or formal engineering tenure required.
