Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive projects end-to-end from ideation to production rollout
• Write project design docs and review them with the team
• Ship v0 solutions quickly to staging, validate with pilot customers, then iterate to v1 based on feedback
• Roll out v1 solutions to all customers
• Review PRs for other engineers, balancing quality vs. speed
• Manage work in Linear and participate in sprint/quarterly planning
• Participate in daily on-call rotation

Example Projects

• Use LLMs to transform freeform doctors' notes into structured medical data
• Build an OpenSearch cluster for searching patient medical history
• Transform incoming TCP messages from hospitals (90s-era protocol) into modern HTTP webhooks

Requirements

• 3+ years experience as a full-stack engineer
• Located in San Francisco or the Bay Area (or willing to relocate)
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and leadership ability
• Comfortable building scalable systems across the full stack
• Healthcare domain knowledge (FHIR, HIE, IHE, EHR/EMR, HL7, etc.) is a plus

• Data: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, Snowflake, HAPI FHIR servers
