About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build native Android experiences for members using Kotlin.
  • Deliver features from system design through launch in collaboration with product, design, and backend engineering teams.
  • Contribute to scalable, reusable mobile frameworks and improve code consistency and engineering velocity.
  • Raise architecture, testing, and monitoring standards through implementation and code review.
  • Help develop financial products including Paycheck Advance, Build Card, and Savings Pods.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of native Android development using Kotlin.
  • Working knowledge of Android fundamentals, including component lifecycles, dependency injection with Hilt, multithreading, persistence, and Jetpack components such as Compose, Material 3, Navigation, and ViewModel.
  • Experience with modularized app architecture, including unidirectional data flows, MVVM, and Gradle modules.
  • Experience working in a shared codebase with an established code review culture.
  • Interest in personal finance.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience profiling and optimizing UI performance, including smooth animations and reducing jank.
  • Experience using gRPC and Protocol Buffers for networking.
  • Experience publishing and maintaining apps on the Google Play Store.
  • Experience migrating legacy XML/View code to Compose.

  • Salary range of $160,000 - $200,000.
