Responsibilities
Build, release & support test solutions for use on the manufacturing lines at Zoox and at contract manufacturing partners
Develop testing scripts to verify functionality, control test instruments, capture test parameters, and analyze results for continuous improvement
Implement adequate test coverage across all phases of manufacturing (PCBA, module, system, vehicle) through collaboration with other teams
Release updated test programs for new generations of hardware and software
Establish best practices and drive continuous improvement on test deployment, runtime, and yield
Requirements
BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent technical degree
8+ years of industry experience or equivalent
Strong knowledge of Python and shell (bash) scripting
Strong knowledge of testing and troubleshooting complex electronic assemblies in a manufacturing environment
Experience in developing automated manufacturing tests on Linux. Ability to debug failures using commands in the terminal
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Nice-to-Haves
MS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent technical degree
Experience in lidars, cameras, and radars is a definite plus
Knowledge of pytest, unittest, or similar test frameworks
Knowledge of automotive protocols such as CAN, automotive ethernet
Leads end-to-end failure investigations and corrective actions for metallic components, applying metallurgical characterization, mechanical testing, and manufacturing-process expertise across forming, stamping, and casting. Requires a relevant engineering degree and at least eight years of materials, metallurgical, or failure-analysis experience.
