Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with designers and partners to create and maintain Stripe.com experiences.
  • Pair with and mentor other design engineers while building a culture of excellence.
  • Prototype and implement web animations and interaction-heavy product launch materials.
  • Build polished, accessible end-user experiences for complex problems.
  • Utilize, maintain, and extend design systems.
  • Integrate the web platform with self-serve authoring and experimentation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant web front-end development or creative technology experience at a tech-forward, product-driven company.
  • Advanced knowledge of modern HTML and CSS.
  • Experience writing clear, elegant code in a team environment.
  • A portfolio demonstrating design work and frontend code, such as design systems, microsites, Figma plugins, WebGL experiments, or CSS art.
  • Experience designing and building public-facing websites that work across commonly used browsers and devices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of formal design elements, including typography, layout, balance, and proportion.
  • Proficiency with React, especially interactions, animation, performance, and polish.
  • Experience with A/B testing, synthetic monitoring, or accessibility testing.
