Software Engineer

Build and maintain open-source SwiftUI components and iOS SDKs used by third-party developers. The role requires at least 3 years of native iOS experience, strong SwiftUI and software engineering fundamentals, and effective technical communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop composable, high-quality UI components using SwiftUI.
  • Build and evolve the open-source Universal Components iOS SDK and integrate it with identity and authentication services.
  • Write and maintain tutorials, guides, sample applications, technical documentation, and other developer resources.
  • Engage with the open-source developer community, provide technical support, and advocate for modern developer experience.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute domain expertise, and uphold quality standards across iOS projects.
  • Represent technical expertise through developer events, community forums, and technical blog posts.
  • Troubleshoot, fix, and maintain client libraries while keeping current with Apple frameworks and platforms.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in native iOS development.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building production interfaces with SwiftUI.
  • Ability to translate design mocks, such as Figma designs, into clean, modular, and accessible SwiftUI code.
  • Interest in developing reusable iOS libraries and SDKs for third-party developers.
  • Strong understanding of modern iOS frameworks, Swift best practices, and the Apple ecosystem.
  • Experience shipping or contributing to an iOS application or public SDK using SwiftUI.
  • Experience with dependency managers and SDK distribution methods such as Swift Package Manager and Carthage.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD platforms and automated mobile testing in continuous integration pipelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation or content authoring.
  • Collaborative, self-directed approach suitable for a globally distributed team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with design systems, component libraries, design tokens, or multi-platform visual consistency.
  • Experience with UIKit and hybrid SwiftUI/UIKit architectures.
  • Experience working in remote or distributed teams.
  • Experience with Android, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, or cross-platform architectures.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or experience maintaining open-source repositories.
  • A technical blog, open-source portfolio, or published articles on iOS development.
  • Familiarity with identity, authentication protocols, or access management.
