About the role

Responsibilities

  • Work across 3 services: TypeScript/React frontend, Python backends, and ML/CV inference on Google Cloud and Modal
  • Build and maintain physician web portal using Next.js/React for clinicians to place orders, view slides, and read reports
  • Develop order service handling orders, patients, clinical data, insurance billing claims, report generation, and third-party integrations
  • Build slide tiles service generating and serving DeepZoom pyramids from gigapixel pathology slides

Requirements

  • Strong TypeScript and React (React 19 / Next.js 15, App Router)
  • Tailwind CSS, component-driven UI, Jest + React Testing Library, Playwright for E2E
  • Strong Python with production experience in Flask (or similar) and SQLAlchemy/PostgreSQL
  • Database schema migrations (Alembic / Flask-Migrate)
  • Designing and consuming REST APIs; integrating third-party services
  • Async/background job processing (Google Cloud Tasks)
  • Hands-on Google Cloud Platform: Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage (GCS), Cloud Run, Cloud Tasks
  • Docker and CI/CD with GitHub Actions; tag-based semantic-versioned releases
  • Comfort with Vercel (portal) and serverless GPU deploys (Modal)
  • Testing discipline with pytest, Jest, and Playwright
