About the role

What You’ll Be Working On

Operational Coordination

  • Lead the coordination of all on-shift operations, ensuring the safe operation of plant equipment during normal and emergency scenarios.

System Monitoring & Control

  • Use Distributive Control System (DCS) computers to operate equipment and monitor parameters, making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance.

Compliance & Safety Oversight

  • Ensure strict adherence to all local, State, and Federal regulations, as well as internal plant procedures.

Hazardous Materials & Security

  • Maintain plant security, handle and transfer bulk chemicals, and ensure safe storage and transport of waste materials.

Chemical Analysis

  • Perform chemical analysis and control on steam, cooling, and condensate systems, while meticulously maintaining chemistry logs.

Lockout Tagout (LOTO)

  • Utilize RedTag PRO and other specialized software for the professional issuance of Lockout Tagouts to ensure personnel safety during maintenance.

Technical Troubleshooting

  • Resolve the most complex technical issues and independently prioritize responsibilities for specific functional areas.

Process Improvement

  • Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and provide strategic input to enhance plant efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Training & Mentorship

  • Provide advanced on-the-job skills training to others in complex technical areas and guide team members in task completion.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Generally 10+ years of directly related experience in a power plant environment.
  • Deep understanding of health and safety regulations, including working around hazardous energy, chemicals, and waste materials.
  • Previous experience using test equipment, calibration appliances, and machinery repair/control systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics.
  • Proven ability to make competent decisions regarding non-routine technical issues and emergency operations.
  • Skilled in using PC computers, Microsoft Office products, and specialized plant control software.
  • Ability to perform walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA.

  • Certifications: Possession of advanced certifications or licensures relevant to power plant operations.

Compensation

Compensation will be paid in the range of $50 - $58/HR + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
