Ground System Integration Engineer

Integrates satellite flight software and hardware with mission management and Command & Control platforms. The role requires strong debugging and software integration skills, relevant engineering education, and at least three years of experience with satellite systems or similarly complex hardware-software integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate software Command & Control solutions for satellite vehicles.
  • Work with customer stakeholders to decompose mission requirements and engineer solutions using existing products.
  • Integrate new satellites and flight software into Quindar’s mission management platform.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support development and integration across Quindar’s broader product suite.
  • Perform deep technical analysis, troubleshooting, debugging, and low-level software integration with hardware.
  • Adapt to varied missions, develop creative solutions, and maintain a focus on scalability, maintainability, quality, resilience, and performance.
  • Communicate complex information to internal and customer-facing audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience with satellite command and control systems or similarly complex hardware-software integration efforts.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, or Java.
  • Experience developing real-time embedded software and/or integrating hardware assets with mission management software.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Must meet applicable U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with satellite communication protocols such as CCSDS, CSP, CFDP, and IP.
  • Understanding of standardized command and telemetry definitions such as XTCE and MIB.
  • Familiarity with AES-256 GCM, AES-256 CFB, AES-256 ECB, NSA Type 1 PEGASUS, or NSA Type 1 CARIBOU encryption.
  • Experience with AWS Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, or RDS.
  • Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and open-source software.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $110,000–$170,000 annually.
  • Hybrid work with 2–3 days per week in the Arvada, CO office and substantial remote flexibility.
