What You’ll Be Working On
Mechanical Design & Documentation: Design modular integrated buildings, low voltage switchboards, medium voltage switchgear, and critical power distribution equipment.
Technical Documentation: Develop specification sheets, bills of materials (BOMs), detailed assembly instructions, and manufacturing documents with a high standard for accuracy.
Detailed Drawings: Deliver accurate and timely shop drawings, product submittals, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and as-built drawings, ensuring traceability across projects.
Code Compliance: Ensure product designs comply with regulatory requirements, commercial codes, customer specifications, and engineering standards.
Quality Assurance: Participate in model reviews and drawing checks as part of the engineering design release process to ensure quality and design accuracy.
Manufacturing Efficiency: Participate in Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Excellence (DFx) reviews to support cost reduction and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Lifecycle Management: Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as part of product release and lifecycle management, coordinating with cross-functional teams for smooth implementation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams to support customer inquiries and resolve technical problems.
Process Improvement: Help identify and implement improvements to design procedures and methodologies to enhance safety and quality.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally with engineered-to-order power distribution equipment.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with 3D modeling software, specifically SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, to manage complex designs and assemblies.
Materials Knowledge: Strong knowledge of metals and materials used for fabrication, including properties and manufacturing methods.
Code Application: Working knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and UL listings, with the ability to interpret and apply them to designs.
First Principles: Ability to solve engineering problems utilizing a first principles approach to design and analysis.
Detail Orientation: Meticulous commitment to detail ensuring precision in design, analysis, and documentation.
Physical & Operational Requirements: Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
