Senior/Staff Data Scientist
Develops and optimizes machine learning and statistical models for fraud prevention, analyzing large-scale data and communicating insights across technical and business teams. The role requires at least three years of data science or machine learning experience, with fraud or anti-money-laundering expertise preferred.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced fraud detection models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to design and implement fraud detection systems and processes.
- Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies associated with fraudulent behavior.
- Evaluate, optimize, and update fraud detection models as fraud trends and tactics change.
- Apply current advances in fraud detection, data science, and machine learning.
- Communicate data analysis and model performance results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure data privacy and security compliance in fraud detection and data analysis.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field, focused on fraud prevention and/or anti-money laundering.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques.
- Experience with large datasets and distributed systems such as Apache Spark and Dask.
- Experience with data cleaning, data quality, data transformation, and feature engineering at scale.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Cloud development experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- MLOps experience.
- Experience in fintech, marketplaces, or financial services.
- Knowledge of current fraud tactics and trends.
