Senior Compliance Associate
This role leads compliance framework development, monitoring, regulatory engagement, and reporting for Coinbase Luxembourg S.A. It requires at least five years of experience in an EU-regulated financial institution and knowledge of major EU financial regulations, with French and crypto-regulatory experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Draft, maintain, and update local compliance policies and frameworks in alignment with EU and Luxembourg regulatory requirements and group-level standards.
- Own the Compliance Monitoring Plan and execute thematic reviews across key regulatory obligations.
- Partner with the Central Compliance Testing & Assurance team to ensure second-line coverage and consistent methodology.
- Prepare materials for regulatory inspections, regulatory queries, and governance bodies.
- Coordinate annual regulatory reports, including the AML Risk Assessment, RC Report, and Annual Compliance Summary Report.
- Execute consumer protection monitoring covering conflicts of interest, transparency, and disclosure requirements.
- Support Compliance by Design reviews for new products and services.
- Coordinate regulatory reporting obligations and liaise with data teams and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely reporting.
- Support the Chief Compliance Officer with AML/CFT implementation, regulatory horizon scanning, and impact assessments for emerging laws and regulations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of compliance experience within an EU-regulated financial institution, such as an e-money institution, payment institution, bank, or MiFID II-regulated entity.
- Progressive responsibility across multiple compliance disciplines.
- Working knowledge of EU financial regulations, including MiCA, PSD2, AMLD, MiFID II, DORA, and GDPR.
- Experience applying regulatory requirements to policy drafting, monitoring plans, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience preparing materials for and supporting direct engagement with regulators, auditors, and internal governance bodies.
- Experience leading compliance monitoring and testing programs, conducting thematic reviews, documenting findings, and tracking remediation.
- Fluency in English.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in French.
- Familiarity with crypto assets and crypto-related regulatory frameworks, including MiCA implementation.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary: €112,200–€112,200 EUR, excluding equity and bonus.
- Additional compensation may include equity, bonus eligibility, and medical, dental, and vision benefits.
- The role requires working in the office 3–5 days per week.
