About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build user-facing aspects of the Starbridge platform in close collaboration with product, design, and engineering.
  • Build highly performant, stable frontends that explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Create structures that support rapid iteration and responsiveness to customer feedback.
  • Set a high bar for user experience and interface quality.
  • Measure and optimize application performance.
  • Contribute proactively to team success in a blend of synchronous and asynchronous work.
  • Help build an in-person team culture.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience in modern web ecosystems.
  • Experience working at a startup or smaller company with meaningful engineering impact.
  • 5+ years of experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, CSS, and other frontend technologies.
  • Strong focus on UX and UI quality.
  • Understanding of how code affects performance, including how to measure and optimize it.
  • Collaborative, proactive communication and teamwork.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a technical lead making architectural design decisions.
  • Experience with GitHub CI/CD.
