About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and validation of a commercial product.
  • Contribute to the design of a regenerative drying and purification system for efficient, continuous production of high-purity hydrogen.
  • Characterize thermal and separation processes.
  • Develop control systems and optimize operating parameters to meet reliability and cost constraints.
  • Oversee an experimental test station as the directly responsible individual.
  • Develop a data analysis framework to provide insights into long-term physicochemical phenomena.
  • Work with vendors to design and develop custom components as needed.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
  • Comfortable working with basic mechanical and electrical components, troubleshooting independently, and taking ownership of hands-on laboratory work.
  • Strong fundamentals and problem-solving intuition in one or more of the following areas:
    • Thermodynamics
    • Fluid mechanics
    • Heat and mass transfer
    • Reaction kinetics
    • Phase equilibria
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment, learn, iterate, and execute with velocity.
  • Available to start in August or September 2026 and work onsite in Mountain View, CA.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to follow-through and accountability.
