Senior Integration Engineer, Business Systems

Build and scale enterprise APIs, integrations, and automations across procurement, finance, supply chain, and related business systems. The role requires extensive integration architecture experience, hands-on iPaaS expertise, programming ability, advanced SQL, and cloud-platform familiarity.

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design integrations across enterprise business systems, including Zip, Salesforce, Oracle Cloud, Snowflake, Looker, and external partner systems using MuleSoft and Zip’s Integration iPaaS platform.
  • Build Python-based tools and automations for data validation, API testing, and process optimization.
  • Write and optimize SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and analytics.
  • Collaborate with partner engineering and operations teams to ensure integration robustness, security, and scalability.
  • Create and execute unit, integration, and regression tests for custom components and data flows.
  • Monitor and support launched integrations and automations using metrics and logs to improve reliability and performance in MuleSoft and the Zip iPaaS platform.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, and version control using GitHub and modern DevOps practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years architecting, designing, and scaling enterprise APIs and integrations in high-volume environments.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with an iPaaS integration platform, preferably MuleSoft.
  • 3+ years of recent hands-on experience with Python, Kotlin, Java, or Go.
  • Experience integrating enterprise business systems such as Oracle Fusion Cloud, Zip, Coupa, Salesforce, Workday, or SAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data pipelines in Airflow, Fivetran, Prefect, or Databricks.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and services such as S3, Lambda, SQS, and RDS.
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation.
  • Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into technical designs.
  • Proven experience delivering complex integrations for procurement, finance, or supply chain systems.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and quality focus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with end-to-end procurement transformation projects using Zip or Coupa, including systems integration and process optimization.
  • MuleSoft or AWS certifications.
  • Experience with Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, or other LLM-based tools.
  • Experience building MCP servers using Python or TypeScript for exposing tools and processes to agentic workflows.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML-based automations for technical and business processes.

Compensation and Benefits

  • ATS-listed salary range: $185,200–$326,800 USD annually.
  • Market-based pay varies by location and is determined by skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
