Senior Manager, EU Government Affairs
Leads Spotify’s EU government affairs work in Brussels by managing technology, platform, consumer, trade, and content policy files and advocating with European policymakers. Responsibilities
- Engage regularly with EU policymakers, including the Commission, Parliament, Council, and policymakers at the national level.
- Work on priority public policy issues affecting Spotify in the EU, focusing on platforms and content regulation, consumer rules, trade, and technology regulation.
- Manage policy files and develop and implement effective advocacy strategies.
- Collaborate with legal, licensing, communications, social impact, compliance, and trust and safety teams to understand internal priorities and shape approaches to key policy issues.
- Develop engagement and partnerships with trade associations and civil society organizations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in EU government affairs for a government or public authority, company, or trade association.
- Expertise in regulatory issues, especially platform and consumer regulation.
- Excellent understanding of the technology sector and policy, with the ability to rapidly understand and master complex policy issues.
- Mastery of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including trade associations, companies, and civil society.
- Ability to work independently across time zones and cultures.
- Full English language proficiency.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of an additional EU language, such as Dutch or Polish.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hybrid work arrangement with flexibility to work from home.
- In-person meetings are expected, with an expectation to work from the office three days per week.
