Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and implementation of complex product features that significantly impact customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Architect, lead, and optimize mobile infrastructure for scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to define and evolve robust, efficient, and well-documented APIs for mobile-to-server communication.
  • Champion engineering best practices across teams, including code quality, system design, and operational excellence.
  • Identify and lead strategic technical initiatives, providing architectural guidance and solving complex challenges.
  • Develop and oversee unit, integration, and UI automation testing strategies.
  • Define and analyze performance indicators to measure feature effectiveness and guide product enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience, including significant mobile development experience and leadership of complex projects.
  • Expert proficiency in Swift and modern iOS paradigms, including Combine, Swift Concurrency, and SwiftUI.
  • Extensive understanding of iOS application architectures, including MVVM, MVP, and VIPER, and their trade-offs.
  • Ability to architect scalable and maintainable mobile solutions.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding engineers.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or large language models.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Android development and cross-platform technologies.
  • Participation in the broader iOS development community through open-source contributions or conference presentations.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Canada-based salary range: $199,000–$244,000, plus equity and benefits.
  • Benefits include healthcare, internet and cell phone reimbursement, a learning and development stipend, and potential travel opportunities to the Mountain View headquarters.
