Responsibilities

  • Architect scalable, event-driven backend systems integrating with hospital systems and health plans.
  • Audit current integration architecture and ship secure, scalable features.
  • Lead architectural discussions, design end-to-end solutions using Apache Kafka and DynamoDB.
  • Mentor junior engineers, improve system observability with Datadog and Sentry.
  • Own long-term technical strategy for growth platform, optimize for massive scale.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years software engineering experience building scalable backend systems and microservices.
  • 4+ years building event-driven systems.
  • 4+ years AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB) and cloud architecture.
  • Strong backend technologies: Node.js/TypeScript, Python, relational/non-relational databases, messaging/streaming.
  • Collaboration with web/mobile frontends (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Vue.js/Angular).
  • Hands-on with generative AI tools for development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years TypeScript, NestJS, GraphQL, Node.js, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Redis.
  • Experience designing integration-heavy systems with external partners.
  • Frontend fluency (React Native, React).
  • Observability tools: Datadog, Sentry.
  • System design, microservices, CI/CD pipelines.

Compensation

  • Annual salary range: $192,000 - $288,000, plus equity and benefits.
