Senior Manufacturing Engineering, Machining

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap to establish and scale an internal machine shop, including capability definition, machine selection, procurement, and commissioning.
• Source, evaluate, and purchase CNC machines and supporting equipment, including workholding, tooling, metrology, and material handling.
• Coordinate machine delivery, rigging, utilities, installation, acceptance testing, and ongoing maintenance strategy.
• Design machine shop layouts, workflows, and safety and operational standards covering material flow, tool control, inspection flow, and chip/coolant management.
• Design and validate machining fixtures and workholding for repeatability, speed, and part quality.
• Create, own, and maintain CAM programs and machining documentation, including setups, tool lists, inspection plans, and standardized work.
• Run machines as needed to unblock development or production and prove out new processes and programs.

Requirements

• 4–6+ years of experience working with machined components in manufacturing engineering, CNC programming, CNC machining, or a closely related role.
• Experience designing fixtures and workholding and bringing repeatable machining processes into production.
• Strong CAM programming experience and practical understanding of feeds and speeds, tooling, and setup strategy.
• Comfortable proving out programs on the shop floor, debugging issues, and iterating quickly.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience selecting and commissioning CNC equipment, including mills and lathes and 3-, 4-, or 5-axis machines.
• Proficiency with CAD for fixturing and tooling design, such as Siemens NX or similar.
• Experience with GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and inspection or metrology planning, including CMM and probing.
• Experience developing standardized work, work instructions, and training programs.
