Senior UX Researcher

Leads end-to-end UX research for Okta’s Access Management products across desktop and mobile platforms, translating complex enterprise and security problems into product strategy and decisions. The role requires 4+ years of enterprise UX research experience, or an advanced relevant degree with 2+ years.

Responsibilities

  • Own the UX research strategy for Access Management in India.
  • Scope, prioritize, and execute generative and evaluative research across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
  • Build and manage a dedicated panel of user personas and maintain a direct pipeline to critical users.
  • Use AI tools to streamline transcript synthesis, feedback classification, qualitative coding, and other recurring research operations.
  • Enable Product, Design, and Engineering partners to conduct high-quality evaluative studies through training, templates, and workflows.
  • Mentor cross-functional partners and strengthen the organization’s research practice.
  • Apply mixed methods, including contextual inquiry, usability testing, surveys, and quantitative analysis.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed EPD teams and synthesize complex findings into compelling, actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of product development experience conducting UX research in enterprise or B2B environments, or a master’s degree/PhD in HCI, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field plus 2+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated UX research experience in complex technical, enterprise, security, or developer-facing domains.
  • Ability to independently translate business goals and technical ambiguity into structured research plans while managing competing priorities.
  • Experience incorporating AI tools into research workflows, such as transcript synthesis, qualitative coding, and prompt engineering.
  • Experience working effectively with globally distributed teams and communicating clearly in written and asynchronous formats across US/APAC time zones.
  • Ability to connect user insights to business metrics, product adoption, and technical feasibility.
  • Digital portfolio or case study deck demonstrating end-to-end research ownership, complex technical problem spaces, generative and evaluative methods, and measurable impact.
  • Experience researching desktop and mobile applications across macOS, Windows, iOS, or Android.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in identity, access management, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT administration.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in HCI, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field when applying through the experience-based qualification path.

Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid role based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
