Responsibilities

Drive Technical Strategy and Impact

  • Shape how developers discover and engage with Anthropic’s developer products, including Claude Code and Claude Tag, using hands-on experience and user feedback.
  • Build frameworks and mechanisms for measuring developer success in alignment with business objectives and safe, beneficial AI.
  • Prioritize community and content initiatives using data, developer feedback, and business needs.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to incorporate developer needs into the roadmap.

Set the Bar for Developer Relations Craft

  • Help define world-class AI developer relations practices.
  • Model excellence in technical content, code samples, and developer engagement.
  • Contribute to processes and best practices for the broader Developer Relations function.

Drive Scaled Developer Adoption and Success

  • Understand the needs of developers ranging from individual hobbyists to enterprise engineering teams.
  • Partner with GTM, Sales, and Marketing on developer-focused adoption campaigns.
  • Lead and participate in developer events, workshops, and community activities.
  • Create technical content such as sample applications, tutorials, documentation, integration guides, and responsible-use best practices.

Drive Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Advocate for developer needs and translate feedback into product and content initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Research to translate AI capabilities into accessible educational resources.
  • Partner with Communications and Marketing to amplify developer success stories.
  • Promote responsible AI practices among developers building with Claude.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in developer relations, developer experience, or technical product/engineering roles.
  • Track record of shipping content or tools that measurably grew a developer ecosystem.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML and API concepts, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to individual developers and enterprise engineers.
  • Ability to write production-quality code demos and critically review developer samples.
  • Understanding of developer psychology, behavior, channels, and adoption-focused content.
  • Commitment to responsible AI, safety, and ethical considerations.
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally without direct authority.
  • Experience thriving in high-growth, rapidly changing environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with large language models or generative AI.
  • Background in AI safety, ethics, or responsible AI development.
  • Public speaking experience at industry conferences and events.
  • Technical content creation experience, including technical writing or video tutorials.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual compensation: $290,000–$435,000 USD.
  • Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more office time.
  • Visa sponsorship may be available for eligible roles and candidates.
