Responsibilities
- Define and champion the mobile architectural vision and long-term technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with product strategy and cross-platform consistency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior engineers across teams, elevating the quality and security of mobile engineering practices.
- Lead architectural reviews and decision-making for foundational components and core platform initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Security, and Engineering leaders to translate requirements into robust, future-proof architectural designs.
- Evaluate trends, technologies, architectural approaches, tools, and platforms in mobile development, especially macOS and iOS.
- Contribute to technical designs, architectural proposals, and documentation that establish organizational standards.
- Participate in critical code reviews to ensure adherence to architectural best practices, security standards, and performance criteria.
Requirements
- 18+ years of software development experience, including at least 8 years setting technical direction and architecting large-scale enterprise software focused primarily on the macOS/iOS ecosystem.
- Expert proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, AppKit, SwiftUI, iOS and macOS internals, system extensions, osquery, application permission models, and relevant frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Android, including Kotlin, Java, and the Android SDK.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing secure, performant, resilient cross-platform mobile solutions.
- Experience working in agile environments and using continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Master's degree in Computer Science.
Nice-to-haves
- Understanding of identity and access management protocols and architecture, including FIDO, U2F, WebAuthn, SSO, SAML, Kerberos, OAuth, and federation.
- Android security or systems development experience, including root detection, code signing, tamper resistance, PKI, or SafetyNet.
- Knowledge of mobile device management.
- Experience working on public-facing SDKs.
