Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with Product Managers, technical individual contributors, and Quality Assurance to translate high-level customer feature requests into clear, detailed technical requirements with actionable metrics and acceptance criteria.
- Identify dependencies, constraints, edge cases, and risks within requirements; ensure feasibility, testability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Author documentation including acceptance criteria, traceability links, and system models using requirements management tools.
- Collaborate with QA, Test, and development teams to validate implementations, support test case development, and ensure requirement traceability and verification coverage.
- Track and manage requirements throughout the development lifecycle, maintaining version control and assessing change impacts.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication to reduce ambiguity and align stakeholders; participate in reviews.
- Support systems modelers in developing and maintaining system models (architecture, behavior, interfaces) using SysML for requirement clarity and validation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years or Master’s with 5+ years in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Software Engineering, or related field with experience on complex software/autonomous systems.
- Extensive experience generating product and test requirements for software products.
- Familiarity with software development workflows in C++17+, Python, Go.
- Working knowledge of requirements management tools like DOORS, Jama, Jira.
- Comprehensive understanding of robotics and autonomy concepts.
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, configuration management, software lifecycle.
- 4+ years in systems engineering or QA roles for aerospace, defense, or safety-critical systems.
- Familiarity with V-model, lifecycle traceability.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, schematics, interface definitions.
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, SysML for system modeling to inform/validate requirements.
- Comfortable in Linux development environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with developer tooling, SDKs, platforms.
- Exposure to safety-critical/mission-critical software environments.
- Experience creating software tooling or using APIs for requirements/project management tools (e.g., scripting data transfers, linking requirements to test cases).
