About the role

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as project manager on complex survey research and analytics projects, ensuring all aspects are on track and troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Craft memos and PowerPoint presentations presenting research clearly and effectively, including strategic recommendations on how to optimize existing and upcoming campaigns
  • Present findings from survey research and other analyses to key stakeholders, including business executives, consultants, PACs, and candidates for political office
  • Conceptualize and construct smart survey instruments and focus group guides
  • Build and present compelling new business proposals and pitch decks that reflect a deep understanding of the company’s survey research products and the client’s specific challenges
  • Manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously to ensure Applecart is meeting client needs
  • Oversee fielding of research projects, including reviewing partial data, assessing quotas, and working with data analysts on survey weighting decisions

Experiences and Capabilities You Bring

  • 3-6 years of experience in a related role working at a market research or political polling firm, a data science or analytics firm, or as an in-house researcher for a company, nonprofit, political committee, or advocacy organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including in client presentations
  • Proven ability to thrive in a client-facing role and fast-paced environment juggling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Experience creating and delivering reports in presentation, slide deck, and memo form to high-profile client stakeholders and strong data visualization skills
  • Understanding of survey/market research fielding, including managing quotas, reviewing survey programming, and troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Familiarity with a range of measurement and research designs including max-diff, conjoint, difference-in-differences, and brand lift
  • Willingness to be a team player and mentor more junior-level employees
  • Excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail
  • History of being a self-starter
  • Experience constructing and/or presenting new business proposals a plus
  • Experience developing and testing methodological improvements a plus
  • Experience producing culturally competent materials with diverse audiences a plus
  • Spanish language proficiency a plus

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is between $115,000-$130,000, based on the candidate's experience and skills relative to the requirements listed above. The salary range provided is exclusive of discretionary annual cash bonus and equity compensation. The salary range provided for this role is specific to candidates located in the New York City area.
