Senior Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define electrical scopes of work with customers and estimating teams for custom power, control, and modular building solutions.
• Translate customer requirements into technical specifications.
• Prepare cost estimates and technical proposals aligned with manufacturing capabilities.
• Create preliminary electrical design documents, including one-line diagrams, control schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Review vendor bid packages and submittals to verify material accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
• Specify and size electrical components according to applicable codes and project guidelines.
• Coordinate the transition from proposal and submittal stages to design engineering with Estimating, Project Management, and Design Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project environment.
• At least 1 year of experience in applications, project estimating, or technical sales.
• Strong understanding of low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems, control panels, and associated equipment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant industry standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-aided design (CAD) software for electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to participate in required drug and alcohol programs for safety-sensitive work.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with modular building construction, industrial controls, and automation systems.
• Familiarity with UL standards and compliance requirements.
• Experience with QA/QC, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and related technical documentation.

• Compensation range: $130,000–$150,000.
