About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver scalable, secure backend services for the core product.
  • Design and implement systems for retrieval over petabyte-scale document collections and large-scale data-collection pipelines.
  • Build backend infrastructure for complex, 1000-step planning agents and interfaces for human-AI collaboration.
  • Contribute to the architecture and management of cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Engineer systems with stringent security and reliability standards for sensitive data.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated impact on production backend systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with distributed systems, large-scale data processing, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex, high-quality backend systems and launch robust products or platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ownership, bias for action, pragmatic problem-solving, and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Nice to Have

  • 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience in a hyper-growth or 0-to-1 startup environment.
  • Experience with Spark or comparable large-scale data-processing systems.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • TypeScript and React experience for full-stack contributions.
