About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own product features end to end across Nexus and the broader Fireworks platform, including the intelligent router, FireConnect harness integrations, cost observability, enterprise controls and policy, developer console, API surfaces, model playground, fine-tuning workflows, and billing.
  • Build the routing and migration layer that scores request difficulty in real time and directs routine work to open models while passing harder tasks to existing providers.
  • Extend FireConnect and Anthropic- and OpenAI-compatible APIs to make adoption frictionless.
  • Improve caching and infrastructure paths that reduce costs.
  • Work across the full stack, including React/TypeScript frontend, Python and Go backend services, APIs, and data layers.
  • Build products that evolve rapidly across new models, serving paths, consumption models, enterprise controls, and multi-agent tooling.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Applied Research, Growth, Data, and Design.
  • Instrument features, analyze usage data, and remove sources of friction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, including meaningful experience building and shipping user-facing products.
  • Strong full-stack skills across React/TypeScript, Python, Go or similar, APIs, and databases.
  • Track record of shipping developer-facing products such as APIs, dashboards, consoles, CLIs, or developer tools.
  • End-to-end ownership, from scoping ambiguous problems through deployment and iteration.
  • Strong product instincts focused on developer experience.
  • Ability to operate with high velocity and extreme ownership, making pragmatic trade-offs.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience building products on complex infrastructure, inference platforms, cloud services, data platforms, or ML tooling.
  • Experience building for deeply technical users where the product surface is as much an API as a UI.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, founder-led environment.
  • Experience using AI tools and understanding AI developer experience.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $200,000-$300,000.
  • Work on hard problems in AI infrastructure, low-latency inference, and scalable model serving.
  • Collaborate with engineers and AI researchers on technology used by businesses and developers globally.
